Fairytales...

I have the best friends. Sincerely, truly, good people who do good things like transform a backyard into a fairy castle filled with treasures just to see a little girl smile. It was magical. I admit that part of what drew me to the event was the chance to take part in a girly, girl party filled with giggles and pink ribbons. I have a Pokemon and basketball obsessed boy who is growing too fast to giggle with much longer so the promise of 4-year-old joy was too much to ignore. As I sat at the table having lip-gloss heavily applied by a mini-makeup artist and rings laced onto all my fingers, I was sure that good deeds do bring great joy. I’ll never know if that played a part in the other women’s efforts (and their husband’s too) but if so, it was a small part. The rest was pure gold intentions strung on silver threads of kindness.
