From a distance...

All our trips this summer were taken by car.  I wanted to try for a train but that wasn't as convenient.  Then a photo shoot opportunity came up in St. Louis, my old stomping grounds, and we were up, up and away.  I got to take Philip and spend the weekend visiting with my big brother and his lovely wife, plus some wonderful friends I hadn't seen in a while.  I was looking forward to all of that as I took these images from the plane when it reached cruising altitude.  There would have been more but the gentlemen seated at the window wasn't happy that I was leaning over him with my camera.  The fact that it was my 9 year old son and he 'stole' the window seat from me is a whole 'nother story.    It was my big brother who said, when I was about 20 weeks pregnant, 'Get ready.  Once he gets here you don't get to have selfish moments any more.'  I wouldn't trade my son for all the 'me' moments in the world but I wonder if my brother knew about window seats!  August 26th
